Crowdfunding : Teqball Reinvents the Game of Football with New Equipment that Objectively Measures Players' Skill Levels; Pre-orders Available Through Kickstarter Campaign

A UK-based team of international people aims to raise £170,000 in order to introduce their pioneering product to the global market and to complete the development of the supplementary Teqbox system.

LONDON, June 23, 2014 -- A start-up company based in the United Kingdom has created a new football-based sport called the Teqball. After years of development and testing, the main equipment for playing Teqball, the Teqboard, can finally be pre-ordered. The main technological add-on, the Teqbox, is still under development, for which the necessary funds are to be raised through crowdfunding in the form of a Kickstarter campaign.

The goal of the inventors and developers of Teqball has been to make a new form of the "global game" [football] available for everyone at any possible location - meanwhile, supporting the football industry by creating an innovative skill development tool. Teqball brings out the best parts of football. It helps developing the skills of both recreational and professional players; at the same time, it is perfect for reducing rehabilitation time after an injury.

Gabor Borsanyi, the co-inventor, has said: "The birth of Teqball is the result of years of hard development and design work. During this time period we have created the sport equipment to play Teqball, which finally can be pre-ordered."

During the development, the team has approached several globally known football figures, which helped them to finally go public with the project. Henk ten Cate, who has 25 years of coaching experience – formerly an assistant coach at F.C. Barcelona and Chelsea F.C. – has commented about Teqball: "It's a very good promotion of football. Without even knowing you are training, you are training and in a very pleasant way." Multiple Spanish La Liga champion and UEFA Champions League winner Ronald Koeman and EURO 1988 winner Erwin Koeman have both been impressed by Teqball as well.

After careful and thorough planning and consideration, the goal of the Teqball team is ambitious. The primary objective is to introduce Teqball to the market, and make it a widely accepted popular game worldwide in the next few years.

The second phase of the Teqball project is well under way, which includes the development of the technological add-on, the Teqbox. The Teqbox can be defined as pair of eyes that uses a state-of-the-art camera-based motion sensor system, and an event-processing software that is able to measure the skills of a player in an objective way.

Viktor Huszar, the other co-inventor, has said: "We wish to finance the final stages of development via crowdfunding. We would like to raise a minimum of £170,000, which is going to be used to introduce Teqboard worldwide and to complete the development of Teqbox. The Teqboard can be pre-ordered during our Kickstarter campaign. We are hoping that if all goes according to plans, by the end of the year the first Teqboards will be available in stores. The first phase development of the Teqbox, in case of a successful Kickstarter campaign, is planned to be completed within approximately a year, in the second quarter of 2015."

The inventors and developers are specifically hoping for a successful Kickstarter campaign, because this is unprecedented sporting equipment on the site, and also in the world.
