Lost Surfboards Appoints Dave Lester As General Manager

Irvine, Calif., (April 23, 2014) – Matt Biolos and Mike Reola, of Lost Surfboards, are excited to announce the new hiring of surf industry veteran Dave Lester as General Manager of Lost Surfboards.

Lester, who comes from Quiksilver as Vice President Global Wetsuit Division and Rip Curl previous to that, will be fulfilling the newly formed position which was created due to a need to have one person overseeing day-to-day operations of the company’s global surfboard business.

“Dave will be overseeing all aspects of our surfboard business with his major focus being on sales, shop relationships, production, operations and marketing,” said Reola.

“Dave has so much experience in the business and is such a core surfer. His skill set, relationships and experiences are just what we were looking for in a General Manager,” said Biolos. “He is going to help us organize and streamline our surfboard business so that it runs more efficiently.”

“I am so stoked to be joining the …Lost family – Matt, Mike and the entire team are so passionate about the boards and the brand,” said Lester. “I am really excited to be working for such a great group of people. The product is obviously very good, just look at the international and domestic athletes that are constantly ordering and riding the boards.”

ABOUT …LOST ENTERPRISES:

Lost began in 1985 when Matt Biolos and a bunch of school friends were into snowboarding at Mt. Baldy, skateboarding at the Pipeline in Upland, and surfing in Dana Point. They were “team lost”. Thus the name …LOST scribbled on books, t-shirts, benches, tables and eventually clothing. Matt’s friends had been telling him for years to put the word Lost and his art on tees and try to sell them. By 1992, Matt began putting his art on T-Shirts with a …LOST logo. His roommate Mike Reola, a recent business school graduate, helped him handle the business side of things and they both worked on developing a plan to slowly grow and market the company with little or no money. Matt Biolos and Mike Reola, while running the company with partner Joel Cooper, continue to oversee every aspect of the business. Lost is one of the last privately owned and controlled surf and skate brands.
