Aqua Sphere Upgrades Best-Selling Children's Swim Mask with Introduction of Seal Kid 2

In Support of National Launch, Four-Time Olympian and Active Mom Amanda Beard Shares Advice On How To Introduce Kids to the Water

VISTA, Calif., March 26, 2014 -- Aqua Sphere, the leading innovator of premium swimwear and swim accessories based on comfort and high-quality technical designs, today introduced the Seal Kid 2 swim mask. The new innovation, modeled off its classic Seal Kid style, which has been the leading choice of parents and kids for more than a decade, takes water safety to the next level by providing 180-degree field of vision, easy-to-adjust pull buckles, and an updated facial skirt, resulting in an improved, water-tight fit.

"We designed the Seal Kid 2 with enhanced features that will help give parents the peace of mind knowing that their children are safe in the water," said Todd Mitchell, manager, Aqua Sphere Swim Division.

"We took design cues from our best-selling Seal Kid mask and equipped the Seal Kid 2 with the newest technical design features, including a water-tight seal made to fit a wider variety of faces, to enhance the overall fit and durability, and ultimately help kids to enjoy the water like never before."

The Seal Kid 2 provides a flexible, torsion-free nose bridge insert to protect the shape of the frame and lens curvature, while reducing the stress and strain often incurred through normal wear, and helping extend the life of the mask.

As a four-time Olympic swimmer and active mom, Amanda Beard recognizes that feeling comfortable in the water is tantamount to an enjoyable experience. Working alongside Aqua Sphere, Beard shares the following advice on the best ways to acquaint children with the water:
  1. Introduce your kids to water early. Getting your child comfortable with water is half the battle, so begin by enrolling them in an instructor-led swim class. The more comfortable they feel, the more fun they will have.
  2. Set a good example. Getting in the water and participating in swim class with your child or helping them to practice their skills is another way to ensure they are relaxed in a new and sometimes scary environment.
  3. Make sure kids have proper equipment. Picking the best product for beginner swimmers is critical for encouraging them to feel at ease in the water. For example, a mask that fits around the entire face will be more comfortable and also provides a larger viewing pane than a goggle.
  4. Build confidence levels as they grow. Parents should continue to reinforce their children's skills through family outings and experiences that demonstrate that the water is a safe place where you can also have lots of fun together.
"It's not about becoming an Olympic swimmer or even ending up on a swim team. What's most important is water safety and equipping young children with a lifesaving skill that opens the doors to so many things," adds Beard. "The new Seal Kid 2 provides a great foundation."

Aqua Sphere's Seal Kid 2 is designed for children ages 3+ and is available in seven vibrant colors:  violet and lime, lime and blue, clear and lime, as well as aqua and lime and red and aqua with clear or blue lenses. This newest addition to Aqua Sphere's children's offerings is available at retailers nationwide and online at www.AquaSphereSwim.com for $21.95 SRP.
