Business and retail news :Yeah! AG weaker than planned but happy

The Yeah! AG has indicated that in 2012 increased its net sales by 16 percent from 26.2 to 30.5 million euros. The plan was a growth of 21 percent.

Background for the weaker sales growth was the closure of the traditional outdoor house Sine in Frankfurt after 33 years as of 1 September 2012 under the. 15 competitors in the immediate vicinity had Sine-induced CEO Ulrich Dausien to take this step. Nevertheless, the Yeah! AG last year opened three new locations in McTrek Rosenheim, Weiterstadt and Aachen.

The preliminary annual net earnings of the Yeah! AG before tax would amount to an estimated more than one million euros before special effects. Profit for the year was characterized by weak gross profit in the first quarter of 2012, as the winter was very mild and inventory was laid off mostly at reduced prices, founded the company. The second and third quarter of 2012 was cold and rainy, so the hard goods business with outdoor equipment was rather subdued. The fourth quarter was the Yeah! AG achieved despite the mild December good sales growth of around 25 percent.

Dausien explained in a press release: "It is the second consecutive weak winter. The Outdoor traders are sitting on large stocks of winter wear or have been able to sell only to weak margins. "Unlike its competitors start the Yeah! AG the Winter Sale Classic last weekend of January. "However, we need this strategy to date - mid January - pay with weak sales. The Yeah! AG is expected this winter with high inventories of winter goods quit, "says Dausien. A capital of the Yeah! AG in the fourth quarter of 2012, with more than 600,000 euros of new capital flowed into society, supported the strategy to achieve with high inventories and high margin revenues.
The Yeah! AG plans this year four new McTrek locations. In April, the company headquarters in Hanau moves to new premises on the store Bruchköbel. The outlook for 2013 is positive damped. "We are planning a similar increase in sales as in 2012 with similar positive income," predicts Dausien.
