Dan Templin, who played an instrumental role in building VF Outdoor into an 11-brand, multi-billion dollar global juggernaut through a series of acquisitions, has accepted the position of chief operating officer and chief financial officer at Eddie Bauer LLC.

Templin's career spans 30 years in the retail industry. Over the last 12 years Templin was a key leader in growing revenue at the VF's outdoor coalition from $300M in 2000 to $2.6 Billion in 2011.

"Dan is a very accomplished executive with a consistent track record of success," said Mike Egeck, President and CEO of Eddie Bauer. "He brings depth and breadth of expertise in process, finance, operations, and retail. Dan's particular work in the outerwear industry, including his role as President of the Outdoor Industry Association aligns perfectly with our vision for Eddie Bauer. We look forward to his leadership and contribution as we take this iconic brand to its next phase of growth."

"I'm very excited to join the Eddie Bauer team. This is a brand that has a deep outdoor heritage and a very bright future for exceptional sales and profit growth," said Templin.
VF Corp. said it will announce plans to fill Templin's role in the near future.
"We appreciate Dan’s many contributions to VF’s Outdoor business and to the outdoor industry, and we wish him the very best in his new endeavor," said Steve Rendle, vice president, VF Corporation, and group president, Outdoor & Action Sports. "VF is known for developing strong leaders, and based on our succession process we will be communicating our plan to fill this role in the very near future."

Eddie Bauer also announced today that Marv Toland, current CFO for the company, has taken on the newly created role of senior vice president direct with responsibility for the brand's e-commerce and catalog businesses. "Marv's institutional knowledge of the Eddie Bauer brand combined with his personal passion for our direct business make him an ideal choice to lead our most rapidly growing business segment," said Mike Egeck.

A graduate of New York University with an MBA in marketing and international business, Templin has held senior positions in finance and operations for LVMH Moet Hennessey, Louis Vuitton, and spent a decade at Nabisco Brands International. In 2000, he joined The North Face and helped execute several key acquisitions that led to the formation of VF Outdoor, which today includes the JanSport, Reef, Smartwool, Timberland and Vans brands. He served as chairman of Outdoor Industries Association from August 2009 until August 2011.
